Spring Skin Care Routine Steps
Step 1 Cleansing
The spring not only brings about an increase in humidity but also an increase in pollen. This automatically leads to buildup of impurities and allergens on your skin.
When you cleanse your face gently, you helps to remove these pollutants therefore preventing clogging of pores and breakouts.
I highly recommend you add double cleaning to your spring skin care routine.
Step 2 Exfoliating
Exfoliating is the chemical or physical removal of dead skin cells in order to improve skin’s appearance.

Importance of adding exfoliation in your spring skin care routine
- In winter, old skin cells can build up, making your skin look dull and rough. Exfoliating helps to brighten dull skin by removing those old cells.
- Through exfoliation, skincare products soak in better since you have removed dead skin cells that can prevented them from sinking in.
- Exfoliating clears pores and stops dirt buildup, lowering the chance of getting breakouts.
Step 3 Hydration
Pick a light, hydrating serum that will moisturize and plump your skin. A quality serum should have hyaluronic acid or ceramides.
Hydrating your skin with serums is important as it helps the skin fight against the change of temperature which might be too harsh for your skin.
Step 4 Moisturization
Examples of important things to have in mind when choosing a spring moisturizer include;
Firstly, it has to be a lightweight. Secondly it has to have a non-greasy texture. This provides adequate hydration without clogging pores.
Examples of ingredients that lock in the moisture include; Hyaluronic acid, cocoa butter and shea butter.
Step 5 Sun Protection
You should use sunscreen with at least SPF 30. Don’t forget, you still need sunscreen even on cloudy days. And also, it’s best to put on sunscreen again every 2 hours, especially if you’re outside for a long time.
Importance of using sunscreen
- Prevents sunburn.
- Protects your skin from premature aging.
- Reduces the risk of skin cancer.
Step 6 Use Rich Antioxidants Products
Antioxidants add extra protection to your skin. So, when you use them along with sunscreen, they help shield your skin from harm caused by the environment.
Best antioxidant ingredients include vitamin C, vitamin E, green tea extract, and niacinamide.
Step 7 Take care of your eye area
The skin around your eyes is delicate and can easily become dry, puffy and irritated during spring, especially if you have allergies.
Applying a hydrating eye cream helps protect this sensitive area, making it less puffy and irritated.
Step 8 Use Hydrating Masks
Give your skin a treat with a hydrating or soothing face mask once or twice a week. These masks help to fill up moisture, soothe irritation, and refresh tired-looking skin.
Mask ingredients that your spring skin care routine needs are :
- Aloe vera
- Cucumber extract
- Hyaluronic acid
These ensure your skin gets the most hydration while still feeling comfortable.
Step 9 Evening skin renewal routine
Throughout the day, your skin is exposed to various environmental stressors such as pollution, UV radiation. They can damage skin cells and accelerate aging processes. hence the importance of having a skin renewal routine.
Skin renewal routine
Apply a nourishing night cream or sleeping mask which contains repairing ingredients such as retinoids, hyaluronic acid, peptides and ceramides.
Advantages on your skin:
