5. Declutter

6. Set boundaries

Setting boundaries really helps with your mental glow up. Firstly, determine what makes you feel comfortable and what doesn’t. Secondly, note the areas in your life where you need to set boundaries for example work, relationships and personal time. Thirdly, Be assertive and clear when expressing your boundaries. Lastly distant yourself from people who do not respect your boundaries.

Always remember

  • It is okay to say no.
  • It is okay to prioritize your own needs.
  • You have to follow through with the boundaries you set.

By setting and maintaining boundaries, you learn to create a healthier mental space for yourself.

7. Always take evening walks

Connect with nature, be outside. I have made it my personal goal to always take walks daily. Even if it is only around my neighborhood. As I have realized that it helps with my moods and also my health. Taking walks helps you just be and clear your mind from any thing that might have overwhelmed you during the day.

8. Nourish your mind

Be mindful about what you allow your mind to consume. Quiet thoughts that are not bring stress and change your mood. Additionally, it is important to avoid self-negative talk as it changes how you view yourself.

You are the only consistent person in your life. Also people treat you how you treat yourself. Love yourself despite your flaws, Love yourself even when you feel down. This will help you not be too hard on yourself and also helps with your mental glow up.

  • You are unique, do not compare yourself with other people.
  • Change what you can about yourself and embrace what you can not change.

11. Reduce your social media screen time

Scroll intentionally, set limits on different social media apps on your phone. Social media has negatively affected people’s mental health as they consume what others post without them asking if it is really true. It also acts as a distraction to you actually living your life and being present; Engage in offline activities and hobbies. 

12. Seek help when needed

This is not a weakness. We are humans and we can not do it all by ourselves. When people offer you help it relieves your brain. Next time you feel like you can not do it all, ask people for help.

13. Journal and reflect

Write down what bothers you journal. Journaling helps reduce stress which is good for your mental state. Journaling also helps you keep tabs of your emotions and feelings and you can reflect back and let your past experiences strengthen you.

14. Try to heal your inner child

Healing your inner child means dealing with and understanding childhood traumas and emotional wounds. By facing these issues, you can see how they influence your current behavior, thoughts, and feelings.
